This is horrible. If I lost my main Gmail account, I'd be devastated.

I'm not sure that the emails bouncing back makes it worse, though. At least that way the sender knows that the email didn't go through.

Ordering 6 phones per email address, for many email addresses. Even if the affected people didn't do this, someone shipping to the same address probably did, and increased everyone's risk of getting caught.

I don't think so, as they are looking at the big picture, not the individual cases

And what about if it's a credit card bill? A utility bill? or notice your flight has been cancelled?

How about: "FINAL NOTICE: YOUR ACCOUNT WILL BE CLOSED UNLESS THE FOLLOWING ACTIONS ARE TAKEN"
or: "To reset your password, enter the email address we have on file."

The problems are endless.

I think the number of accounts closed are in the hundreds. The people posting here alone probably account for 100 accounts then there are many more that didn't read this.
