Falafel is more or less falafel. While obviously most will say Uzi or Miro (and you can pretty much tell what yeahivos they went to based on that preference) there isn't a huge difference.
The average Mir guy swearing up and down about Miros usually hasn't tasted much else besides maybe Ben yaakov falafel and the one off store when traveling.
Sure if you are in the area either way then definitely stop by but IMO it's definitely not worth a detour.
Cue all the "I tried every falafel in the land and Miros/Uzi is the best without a doubt"

I couldn't disagree more. I'm a huge falafel fan, didn't attend Mir, and Miros is a must stop for me when I'm in Israel

How many other falafel places have you been to that you must go to Miros as opposed to hundreds of other falafel places?

I've been to many, although probably not hundreds. I'm not saying there are no other good falafel places, on the contrary - hard to be a fan of a food that can only be made well in one eatery. What I am saying is that of all the falafels I've tried, Miros stands heads and shoulders above the rest.

Which particular aspect? The pickles which are occasionally strangely flavored? Or the hummus that everyone else in the country uses? Or the commercial pita that gets delivered to all the shops in the area? Or the perfectly sliced veggies? Or is the the soggyand oil laden fries? Or is it the construction of the dish?

Honestly, give me a fresh hot falafel from any hole in the wall place and I'm happy.
Fresh is the key. Most places make pretty darn good falafel in Israel. Chances are slim you get a bad one.

funny you mention a hole in the wall, someone just opened a falafel stand next to Mir and it's literally a hole in the wall, order from the street window

On a sidenote any recommendations for a fast-food kinda place preferably with pita/salads as appetizer (grill bar style) for tonight in Jerusalem area?
