One thing that often happens after the pop in price is a realization by investors that monetizing the FDA approval won't translate into a quick earnings increase for the company.  So when it's a small firm, the price has dropped.  How much has always varied.

Right. For the past few years this has happened on your stock tips. Hence my question about the put option.

SWTX is over $32
Is it worth holding on?

In my opinion, it’s not a long term hold.

Time for the Puts?
for that to make sense would be to have a specific event/date that you expect will trigger the drop

Interesting "anecdote" related to passive index investing.

GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) has a drug - dostarlimab - that has previously been approved by the FDA for cancer.  It has now been submitted for review to treat a different type of cancer. The committee report is coming out Tuesday, 2/7, with the FDA recommendation on Thursday 2/9.  It is likely to be approved.
Oncology journals are excited about this drug.  But it hasn't been talked about in the mainstream press.
GSK is about $35.  It is a large company with many products. So even if the drug is approved, it may not make much of a blip in the stock.  Especially with stock analysts ignoring the approval.

This one is really speculative; only use play money!

(Buy M,T or W.  Off market on Th. Stock price rises on F.  POSSIBLY)

Forgot about this... Bought 1k worth when you wrote about this last year and set an alert. Now holding $40

Started selling options 0DTE. I make around $100-200 daily. Nice passive income. You need to have a HUGE margin account because I make around $1-5 per contact. Got assigned a few times, but it always worked on my side the day after.

Curious if anybody is doing this as well?

How is selling 0DTE daily considered "passive income"?

Does the risk-reward make sense for it?
How do you make sure not to lose 10s of thousands off it?

Meant side income.

Risk to reward is very high, but so far it has worked in my favor. Worst case I own some SPY shares when selling puts. Selling calls however has a higher risk.

I only trade SPY which is not very volatile, and I sell it in last 30-60 minutes of the market open so I can gauge pricing.

Why would selling calls be a greater risk you own spy anyhow worst case you lose out on upside, or hold spy

I don't own anything. I sell naked options.

Today, I just sold a few SPY 0DTE options.

483P
491C

Profit $661.92.

We will only know by EOD if I'm right or wrong.

until you get assigned, then you can sell covered calls then puts...
I wonder what history would  show are the returns for this continued action in a ira for example where you would own spy anyhow.

Getting assigned is a risk, because I don't have the cash which is around 2 million dollars ( I do have margin though). SPY is not a volatile stock, so I am not that afraid of losing my pants. I would never do it with TSLA. I was assigned SPY or QQQ in the last 4 months 3 times and it went in my favor the next day, so that was my luck BH. I am usually not selling more than 20 contracts which I can cover in case it get assigned and I can continue selling covered contracts. But my strategy is NEVER to hold a stock for more than 1-2 days. I lost too much money beleiving the hype previously. I came to the conclusion thta the stock market is a way for the rich to be richer and suck in all the unsuspecting people. SO I am doing what the rich are doing. Unless you have ALOT of disposable money then park it in blue chips as a WHY NOT.

I am still evaluating the risk though, so PLEASE do NOT copy me. I will try to post my trades here every day.

Have you thought about buying a far otm option of whatever your selling. So it’s not as naked. For example buy a 495c for every 491c that you sell?
