Will just disagree.
I don't think we disagree on this all that much.
Let me break it down like this:
Until proven otherwise, we can assume WG is not an antisemite.
And if she is, she would not say anything antisemitic on TV and risk losing her job.
Then she says this crazy statement (the final part). So how are we to understand it?
Keep in mind this is in middle of a segment with her arguing for Holocaust education. Why would she imply it's not her concern in a segment saying it's everyone's concern?
It's because of the pernicious notion that there is a hierarchy of bigotry, and antisemitism is not racism, but more, it's actually a lesser evil. The fact that Jews are not a race is irrelevant. That's just used to muddy the waters and excuse antisemitism.
Suspending her doesn't help, now it looks to her fans that Jews *are* more privileged. Jews *do* control the media. This makes antisemitism stronger!
