The Lubavitcher Rebbe would use a Torah temima every single shabbos to follow along kriah (and in between aliyas read the pirush)
And until today we use the nusach there for the different differences in aliyas and טעמים etc (besides for a very few typos there )
Unfortunately, recently it was reprinted using a different Chumash as the basis to copy from
(and I therefore collect old (out of print ) sets for all my kids .... )

I believe there's no chiyuv to make if one doesn't have.
An orange itself is likely הנותן ריח טוב לפירות and if you eat it's problematic.
Orange peels that are set aside for besomim is בורא מיני בשמים according to some poskim
