IZ = Israel Zion = Maimonides Hospital

From https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maimonides_Medical_Center:
Quote
In 1920 Israel Hospital merged with Zion Hospital to form United Israel Zion Hospital, later renamed Israel Zion Hospital. Maimonides Medical Center was formed as a result of the merger of United Israel Zion Hospital and Beth Moses Hospital in 1947.
Hatzolah uses IZ as code for the hospital. So should we. Unless you are really good at spelling.

You're not a target. I'm just tired. People have been using religion on this board like the medical guidelines don't matter, and it's costing people's lives.

Because Rav Moshe was never presented with today's pandemic situation. What does "the same time" mean? Are we talking taking an old person off days after he was placed on the respirator to save a young person? Or is it a matter of minutes and seconds? If the younger person comes 5 minutes later and they haven't vented the old person yet, is that the same time? Considering the current rate of infection, hospitalization, and incubation, do we consider a young person en route to the hospital as if he arrived? If that's the case, do we ever vent an older person? You could argue that with x amount of younger people en route to the hospital, it's like they arrived at the same time, so you should never use a respirator on an old person.

I make this argument not because I believe it to be how things should be handled, but to illustrate how you cannot possibly use a case from 30-50 years ago, in which this pandemic was never in people's worst nightmares, to pasken on today's real life-and-death situations. Therefore, to quote irrelevant piskei dinim from the greatest Rabbonim is a disservice to the Rabbonim and to the people who may try to decide who lives and who dies based on those quotes.
I have no idea what you are talking about and why the psak wouldn't apply. Obviously a competent halachik authority have to define each scenario and decide how to apply halacha. Nobody here was applying it to a specific case. He was just saying over what R Moshe said.

First of all, I don't believe a Dr or nurse going to work will see something from the backyard, nor do i see
Most clips of the backyard minyanim are from Williamsburg

13th ave is pretty much deserted. It’s basically grocery shopping. I went down 18th ave past the jewish part, streets were full of Italians & Chinese.
i was in Bed Sty, Bushwick, Clinton hill and in another few Brooklyn areas I was shocked to see so many people on the street..... BP compared to those areas is deserted.

But there is a lot of bad press, which everyone sees. Doesn't matter where (or if) it's taking place if they see it on social media or on the news.....

Closing patients in rooms & forgetting about them is not something I’d call common good.
If the patient has covid, his room door may need to be closed to keep it from spreading.
Although he shouldn't be ignored.

It's frustrating, but since we know they will focus on us, we have to keep our noses extra clean. Doesn't matter if it's unfair. Cue CV "but officer..."

Of course it needs to be closed, but if something needs clearing/cleaning & the patient is gagging to death & nobody responds to the beeping, that’s a massive problem.

Wonder why theyre loading bodies in a trailer at Brooklyn Hospital with a forklift? This will replay over and over. We had Purim and an early start on spreading it. This still has plenty to go before it peaks. 100k deaths is being very optimistic. Were already at 4k a few days in.

Does Maimonides have adequate pulmonologists vs. the other NYC hospitals. Ventilators are only a part of the keili for Refuah, you also need someone competent to set them properly, monitor the patient, and adjust them as necessary.
Starting this week, most ventilated patients are being overseen by a pulmonologist.

I hope you’re wrong. I’ve seen models of NYC deaths R”L peaking around April 9th
