Anyone know the build up to the link? Meaning how can I do the same for any other chat on Twitter?

It seems this new method is not going through Twitter.
The downside is who ever is a follower on Twitter will remain, won't attract new members via Twitter for those who followed because of sms.
Vs using a route that requires you to have a Twitter account will increase the Twitter followers.

The crazy part about this whole thing is why can't I find any info on reddit, google, etc.? This has been happening for days

Who cares about the Twitter followers isn't the goal site traffic?

It must not have affected that many people. Also for reddit specifically, the people that post there prob have app notifications turned in

If I see DD only has 5k followers and the other 91k is via SMS don't know if I'll want to spend the extra 200 to advertise, point being it's good advertisement to have more followers.
