Staying overnight at a hotel with destination chargers will save you 1-2 charging stops per day.
A TR after the trip is a must, here's what I want to know.
How robust or sparse is the charging infrastructure?
If and at what point in the trip did you feel an EV is a burden vs ICE?
How close did you get to 0 miles of range?
Not a TR but just finished the drive from Miami to Washing DC. Staying for the fourth then heading to NY.
Charging infrastructure was great. Never did we have to veer far off the highways. With the EV6 we were constantly pulling 200-220 kw charging speed on the 350 chargers.
We got to visit a bunch of Walmarts.
We used a better route planner for the trip and it was basically spot on. I set to never arrive at a charger under 15%. Once due to speeding we arrived at 10%.
I was in cruise control at around 76 most of the way with Lane Follow and Lane Keep assist on and working great. Barely had to touch the wheel or the pedals.
Apple Maps says the ride should take 14.5 hours (without gas and bathroom breaks). It took us closer to 17.25 Max stop was 25 minutes and we stopped to recharge about every 2.5 hours.
Car went from 15-80% in about 18 minutes. A couple times we charged to 90%.
We set the route planner that we arrive at the hotel with 60% charge so that was one extra 15 minute stop.
