The FDA in it's news release to authorize a 2nd booster, makes a point to quote the study in Israel in which a 2nd booster increases in neutralizing antibody levels against SARS-CoV-2 virus.

That is what in the release. You took that to mean something they never said.

Then we have what they did say but you choose to ignore it.

Very interesting.  For those of us who aren't up to date, can you just explain how the neutralizing antibodies that the Israelis measured are different from the binding antibodies that are measured in the lab tests we get here?

The tests I took I don't believe distinguishes between the 2. And it may not be readily available (in fairness, I did find this article before I posted https://www.labcorp.com/coronavirus-disease-covid-19/news/labcorp-launches-new-neutralizing-antibody-test)
there are studies showing correlation between the 2 and we definitely saw that people that had tested with high antibodies were showing protection for covid - Prior Omicron

Lessens the symptoms? Less chance of hospitalization?  Less chance of dying?

Sorry, I have not been following in many months (including the time when Omicron, or whatever else was going around, took my community as a storm), compared to what? Any double-blind studies?

My son tested positive for COVID-19 at a certain point when it was going around the community a few months ago. He recovered in 2020 and was not vaccinated (I think). He happened to have tested. Various other family members were feeling "under the weather" at various times, and none got tested, so we will never know if they had COVID-19. I had a period of a few weeks when I was coughing (it was very noticeable due to my current 3x a day obligation to lead services). I did not test for COVID (I don't think it was) and I wouldn't define my symptoms as severe.

What I said is you are drawing conclusions on why they included the Israel report.
I posted what they actually say about antibodies. You completely ignored it because it doesn't fit your talking points.

You're oversimplifying. It's quite clear that the immune response from infection and the immune response from vaccination are different (both short and long term), "produce antibodies" is a gross oversimplification.

Reading that article carefully, I see that it was published in 2020, just 3 months into the pandemic.  It says that a test for neutralizing antibodies has been developed, and is offered to researchers.

More recently, this CDC page updated in Jan 2022, seems to imply that the lab tests we get when we check antibodies are the binding antibodies, not the neutralizing antibodies that can be studied by researchers.  https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/lab/resources/antibody-tests-guidelines.html

That page also states
"Antibody testing is not currently recommended to assess for immunity to SARS-CoV-2 following COVID-19 vaccination or to assess the need for vaccination in an unvaccinated person.
