Not that they got immunity from being exposed, but that exposure without infection suggests that maybe the person had prior immunity (perhaps due to having a similar virus a long time ago).

Then again someone so thoroughly exposed might have a degree of natural immunity perhaps due to prior coronavirus family infection. My nephew was in a yeshiva where his chavrusa as well as pretty much the entire place had symptomatic covid. He was as exposed as can be but was negative and never showed antibodies. Doesn’t mean he’ll never catch it but it appears he is not as susceptible as the general population.

The more likely explanation is that he was not in close contact with anyone who was actively shedding the virus. Maybe he woke up late the day a super spreader came to the yeshiva for shachris, and no one else in the yeshiva was actually contagious.

12 cases of a brand new COVID-19 variant (B.1.640.2) which is said to be more infectious & vaccine resistant than Omicron have been discovered in France. Experts are calling it ‘IHU’.
