While I agree the whole thing was ridiculous (my wife used to spend PTC explaining to the parents that were holding out from sending in-person even after the initial re-opening that they were severely stunting their special ed child because remote was especially unproductive for them), I don't think you can compare a long-term remote setup with moving a day here or there to remote - which I don't recall a single instance of.
