Can we try and be honest for a second. Hamas is destroyed. Do you believe there will now be peace? I say no and it will only get worse unless there is an occupation.

It's more nuanced than that.

Initially, Hamas will be wiped out.

But longer term Israel is stoking hatred in Gaza and around the world. They should incentivize the Arab leaders to stop the killing.

That’s a threat, not an incentive.

Israel doesn’t get to decide where other countries choose to direct their aid, so that point is moot. It also happens to be it would make them seem anti-humanitarian.

Any alternative approach would likely cause tremendous loss of soldiers.
And before anyone says that Israel has a bigger obligation to the hostages. you need to remember, the IDF  are conscripts.
On the morning of Oct/7 most of these soldiers were practically civilians too.

Didn’t read the article, but actually thought about this yesterday. You flood it slowly. And you hope everyone comes out when the water reaches their necks. Personally don’t like it though. It’s one thing to take a chance that Hamas kills the hostages. It’s another thing to shoot and then and hope Hamas will protect them.
