What's the reason for cancelation?

“Ground conditions”
Seemed like a fine day to me

A relative of mine just flew UA19 from EWR to MXP on Monday 8/16

The flight was supposed to depart at 7:10 from EWR but was delayed due to mechanical issues. They boarded around 10 pm but did not actually leave till after 12. (the status shows 11:20 but that was probably when it left the gate) and upon arrival, they did not get a gate right away and actually were taken off on the tarmac and bussed to the terminal.

What would be the typical compensation I can try to get for him?

United flight from EWR to TLV delayed overnight for over 12 hours due to air conditioning not working, they are offering $205 per person. Any way to get more?

You should be eligible for 3100 Shekel under the Israeli aviation law. Respond to them mentioning it.

LH delayed/lost my luggage from FRA to TLV for more than five days. I sent someone down to TLV twice and finally located it. I had paid $200 per passenger for a third piece and requested a refund on the fees due to the delay/lost luggage-and the hundreds of dollars of perishables lost.
LH didn't answer so I disputed on CAP1. CAP1 just responded that LH denied the chargeback due to the rules of luggage carriage not being broken.
Should I give up?

I got a flight ua 149 that was delayed because '' member of your crew are arriving late because of a crew scheduling disruption '' and I apply for the expenses to be paid by chase saphire reserve and they are denying ''We have completed our evaluation of your claim under the Trip Delay Reimbursement Benefit claim. We
regret that we cannot process a payment for your claim. Your claim does not qualify for this benefit because:
□ The documentation provided confirms the reason for delay does not meet the criteria for
coverage. Please refer to your Guide to Benefits for confirmation that a Covered Hazard
includes equipment failure, inclement weather, labor strikes, and hijacking or skyjacking.''

Is this normal? completely unfair  any help?

This is correct.
The airline should be responsible for these expenses, and therefore Chase won’t cover it.
They cover weather and other events that are beyond the airline’s control.

So why they pay for aircraft issues?
Labor strike?

Possibly in the past they would pay but now are going by the book due to many claims.

I think so.
But it would have to be for a reason under the airline’s control.

" Crew constraints"
I'll try

Eta- crew constraints is in the cancellation notice, but they emailed me to deny certain expenses since it was due to 'safety issues'. Will be an uphill climb.

I booked the AA glitch from tlv in premium. Was originally in W and I called to get changed to the non-stop. But they downgraded to P.
I called to get it changed, but agent said that since W is full, she can't rebook in W. (True?)
But she told me I can contact after the flight and it would be considered involuntary downgrade, and eligible for compensation.

Since the ticket was just around $280 pp, what compensation can I expect?

The following might belong in travel hack, or other forums not sure.
We were booked on a connection flight, PHX to NYC with a stop in DTW. It was a huge difference in price when we booked it, nonstop vs connection.
A family of 6, on the way back from a 2 week vacation. Since I have platinum medallion status with the airline I was confirmed for first class a few days before the flight, so we were debating if its worth to change to nonstop and be the entire family in economy, or leave it as it was. I checked the day of the flight and saw the direct flight has availability in economy. We decided that we will leave it as is.
My car was parked near JFK for free, flight was to LGA. Asked the check in agent if I can be placed on the DTW flight to JFK. She said ok, but than i will need to pay for baggage for the rest of the group, since it's not exactly same trip.
Of course i declined, and figured will do the change in DTW or just take an uber from LGA to JFK area.
I didn't checked in bags under my name therefore it shouldn't be an issue to do the change in DTW, based on my previous experience when you fly with no bags, they change it for free if there is room.
Since the airline moved the departure times that day to 10 minutes earlier without even sending any notification, I arrived to the gate 10:26 when the original departure was 10:40. Gate was closed. Medallion desk moved me to the direct flight to JFK, which was at 11:05.
Wife was happy, even we got seated all the way in the back near the lavatory.
Our luggage was sent to LGA, I had to do what I planned originally, that I should get my car from JFK to LGA and pick up the family and the bags, but now I had the whole family with me already. But since bags was not with us I was already eligible for some compensation.
To make the story a little sweeter, 1 bag was a cooler, with some leftover stuff inside, and that bag was not on the original flight to LGA, it arrived with the next flight and they delivered it to my house the next day. Called in, and with no hassle I got an additional 200 travel voucher. The stuff in the bag wasn't even worth $30. The representative offered the $200 without even asking what my loss was.
It was a good lesson for my kids to show that whatever hashem does it's for good.
When we arrived at the gate and saw that we missed our flight and might have to sleep over in airport, we didn't dream of such a good ending.

On a side note, we flew without boarding pass, gate agent heard me talk with medallion desk, and the second he heard me saying its confirmed and saw it on his system he just told us to go take the last entire row of seats.
He didn't bother to print and scan it.

Email customer care. Could take a while until they respond.

They responded within 4 days with a choice between a. $1000 United Travel Certificate , b. 50,000 miles or c. EUR600.
I'm not sure if this is in addition to reimbursable expenses.
I'm debating between a or c. We usually travel with points, although a. is transferable.
