Hi,
Looking for ideas. Want to go away for a long weekend in March, probably Thursday to Monday night. I don't want go anywhere too far, but prefer out of the country (from NY).
I prefer non beachy, more interesting type of places, culture etc.
I'm thinking Cartagena, maybe Iceland (I've been there but in the winter, and my husband hasn't), Scotland, Ireland
Prefer a place with Chabad for Shabbos.
Any thoughts?
Venice is ideal for a weekend. The main activity is walking around, so it's great to do it on shabbos. Chabad has shabbos meals available.
Edinburgh, Scotland has a very nice 'mile' of quaint walking around that can easily be done on Shabbos. And other available things to do for the rest fo the time. I'm pretty sure Chabad has Shabbos meals. But there's no restaurants. You may be able to buy takeout meals for non-Shabbos days.
Look to see which cities are known for enjoyable walking around. Look up Chabad. If they have a website, see if they're set up for tourists.
