Hyatt wont let you search for awards unless you have 5k in your account, regaurdless of the type of search. You can search for anything once you have 5k.

There may be a similar thing here. What we really need is someone with 1-4,999 miles in their account. What points/miles transfer besides spg?

Those who have no points on their account can't click on the button 'Use star alliance member airlines' or 'use the single airline'. As proven from Chuchems workaround, once you circumvent that, you can access it for now. So it still remains to be seen if putting in 1 mile will allow you to search the normal way. I tried transferring 1 mile from Amex but you need to transfer a min. of 1000 miles. I would do 1 starpoint (I can afford it even at the current .03 value!) but that would take a few days to go through.

Marks please give it a try. Even if we have to wait. Spg mostly does transfers to airlines on sunday, so you should be able to try on monday

I can't. Just checked spg rules. Preferred has a 2500 min, Gold (which I am) a 1500 min, and Platinum has no min. Which explains why Dan wrote before 'SPG Plats!

Even if a Plat confirms that one point works, that still doesn't help the simplefolk (Gold and Preffered) (note-I didn't say 'little people' cause BP got in trouble for saying that!) to search on ANA without transferring 1000 miles. Unless we get a really generous plat who puts 1 mile in every DD members ANA account.....

Mismatched name transfers by Starwood are often rejected.

Confirmed:
1 ANA mile is enough to get back regular access to *A award search!
Transferred on Friday, reached ANA on Monday.

And yes Supe, the mile came from my account. But surely someone with your snooping skills can figure out who stole your point
