I made this observation a while ago that, while I would estimate the vast majority of far Rockaway/5 towns (combined) eats chalav stam in general, all the restaurants in 5 towns (assuming vaad 5 towns hechshar) is cholov yisroel so I just find that a cool fact :)

Nothing new. I think all that changed is that they sent it out to every single home, 43gardless of they have a sprinkler system or not. But as far as I remember one needs a backflow device (and certified annually IIRC)

Not sure as I don't have a sprinkler system (although I did get the letter) but when pricing it out, also ask how much it is to get it certified each year (although I imagine you could switch companies after it's installed)

I'm pretty sure that the issue is only for sprinkler systems. They don't want chemicals used to treat lawns to sink into the system and then back into drinking water. Also, if I recall correctly, of you call the number and tell them that you don't have a sprinkler system, they will take you off their list.
