That's exactly my question. I always do look at the receipt and it shows 1k debited and added. Is it possible that my balance stays the same? (Start out with $8500 let's say, now it shows debited 1k, can my balance stay @ $8500?- is that the issue people are having?) The reason I'm second guessing myself is cuz I don't always know the balance starting out.
Every time you load make sure that:
1) The Target receipt reflects the load/transaction and the new balance. If you do multiple loads at once look at all receipts.
2) Within minutes you received the automated email from REDcard confirming the loading transaction.
If you want to double-check, after an hour or so login to Redbird online to verify the load transaction is still there, shouldn't have to do this every time (I don't).
If there's issues loading Redbird, they're usually one of these two types:
a) REDcard network issue: Either the load won't go through (won't show on receipt or online) or it won't stay, meaning it will instantly show online a +$500 (for instance) and a -$500 loading reversal. Many of us had the load reversal back in late Feb - early March (2015) when Redbird was having issues. It was corrected manually by Amex reps, it took some time and one or several calls.
b) Gift card network issue: The money won't go to Redbird, it might debit from the gift card and auto-credit back to it in a few hours.
Either way keep all receipts for at least a month to be sure, this way you don't have to double check each transaction. Also keep the gift cards and the gift card package showing the bar code (if Vanilla) for at least a month. You can get your money back if you have both.
