On 4th down he called a TO right before the snap. Something changed that he didn't like. All I am pointing out is going for the two points was not a cut and dry decision. I am sure coaches are on both sides for this one.
On 4th and 1 - he showed a run to the right, called timeout to “change” the play, faked a QB sneak, and still ran it to the right gaining 25 yards. Supposedly this is a common play in CFB.
There was a lot of big brain strategy involved, it was bigger risk no doubt, but the ability to grind out 25 yards is obviously not possible on a sneak. If you’re a good coach with a trick play you can execute well this is the perfect time for it.
Statistics don't win games. I guess you feel you know more about coaching than Dungy.
I guess Pederson missed your 84% stat when he did the end around on 4th and less than one.
I agree with this, don’t look at stats blindly. I’m just saying my opinion based on the situation, the momentum, and players involved, and the fact that stats are on your side to begin with makes it a no brainer, for me at least.
On the flip side some people saying the Chargers needed to run it more, ignoring that every run was getting stuffed while their passing kept the clock running. You can blame the coach for an ineffective run game but if he can’t get it working he has to figure out something other than going 3 and out on run plays.
