Earning mileage: Infants (who don't pay for a full ticket) are not eligible to earn miles.

Luggage: Some people report that their friend or parent flew and got lucky. However, it's best to check with the Airline (on their website or calling them), BEFORE packing your suitcases. Here are some helpful links, plus a summary of baggage allowed for lap infants.
Child paying 10% of fare can check a small suitecase up to 10kg/20lb. Child paying 50%+ of adult fare can check standard baggage allowance (one full size suitcase 23kg/50lb) both are +stroller and car seat. One carry on + booster or infant seat + pump and cooler
1 chacked bag at same rate as adults first bag + 1 stroller + 1 car seat. 1 carry-on diaper bag per child is allowed + pump + milk cooler + (stroller??)
1 stroller + 1 carseat. carry on: diaper bag, pump, carry one size stroller, carseat
1 checked bag up to 50lb/23kg. 1 stroller 1 carseat. 1 carry on up to 13lb/6kg or a carry on size stroller
  • BA
1 checked bag 50lbs/23kg + two of the following: stroller,car/booster seat,travel cot,babyack carrier. 1 extra carryon bag.
  • ElAL
1 checked bag 50lb/23kg. 1 stroller or car seat. NO carry on. (its not like their makpid these days any way  :))
[/list]

Proof: Some airlines require proof of age. Rather bring along some kind of proof, and not get stuck because of an gate agent or TSA guard that had a bad day.

Infants are cute.

Sometimes that works better to calm the kids down.
trust me. Tried that for a while too. Didn’t help at all.
To make things worse we tried Benadryl and it had an adverse effect. If you do try that make sure you test it it a couple of times beforehand.

good luck with that!!
Brought baby head phones to play music. Toys books nosh.. but nothing is guaranteed lol.

Nothing worked for me and it was one hell of a flight. Literally. I think my entire section was ready to kill me. And we really tried everything- didn’t just sit and watch my kid scream like some other parents on the plane did.
How old is your kid? Had that with 1 of my 3m old, she wouldn't shut up ( and she really has a load voice) and the stewardess was absolutely no help she kept telling us "y dontya quite her down people are trying to relax here"....

big. Lots of pockets. A Plus if it comes with a changing pad. Otherwise not much else makes a difference

Does anyone have any experience using the GOGO Babyz luggage strap ( https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0068IGSHM/ref=nav_timeline_asin?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1) as opposed to the Carseat cart?

Just used 1 in JFK a few weeks ago for toddler. Worked, but was a pain (figured had to try before spending $70 instead of $15).

Gave in and bought the real thing after getting to destination. Have it for the way home (in a few weeks) and will know if i made the right decision (I think I did).

Thinking about it now, it reminds me of when I made the same Cheshbon of justifying the Doona purchase (tried without, and made me hate flying lol).
Was totally worth the extra cost.

I used a regular luggage strap to attach car seat to stroller and sat my daughter in car seat. Worked out well

I messaged a couple of them on AliExpress. According to them it's certified for use in cars in the US (take that with a grain of salt), but not by the FAA for use in airplanes. So some airlines, or rather FAs may not let you on the plane with it. I didn't buy any in the end. Will just have to schlep with a regular stroller/car seat combo later this week.

I wouldn't be using the car seat on the plane. It would just be a stroller so I don't have to wait after the flight

I believe they let you thru with baby food, although they do have some sort of test that they do

I just posted this in another thread. They've never given me issues, even for water bottles, although they typically do and extra screening on the bag and a swab test as mentioned below.

+1, never had an issue with bottles or baby food/apple sauce. Just tell the TSA agent and they will swab it.
