It is not so simple, there are issues of opening up the "seal" from when they are cut, nothing to do with Velcro or tape. Also, Velcro can be a problem for makeh bapatish too, and koreah. We try to open the diapers and Velcro strips before Shabbos.

I heard beshem the Stamar Rav, Aser bishvil shetisasher, as in - make something assur to get rich.

Re: the diaper cake, my wife has made such a thing for a baby present, pretty and you can put all sorts of practical stuff in it. Rots, have you such cakes?

Whether or not you (or your LOR) hold this part is a problem, not all brands/types have this issue in the first place. IIRC, Pampers Swaddlers have it, but Huggies Little Snugglers doesn't. I don't remember about the bigger types.

I guess the point is not to touch the cup until you've soaped. I say no thanks, I'll soap after I use the cup.
