The last five of our nine most recent hires have been diverse candidates.

This shows what "diversity" really means. Four of the hires being white males is part of what should make the totality of the hires a diverse group.

That would have been my gut reaction too but I would have investigated more before posting it. There is no way that was written for publication and it looks like what a hacker would post.

It's possible he wrote it for himself when marking/editing the pics and thought he'll update it before publishing, but forgot.

That’s what I would think is the most likely possibility. Easier than assuming the whole system got hacked just to change one caption.

Of course he didn’t intend to publish it. The question is if things like this were routinely shred around the newsroom and then deleted before publication. That would be a reflection of a pervasive culture in the newsroom.

Maybe wanted to fire him for personal reasons, so they made it look like he made that caption to give them grounds to fire him
