Just looked into it quickly. So you can have a combination lock on the other end but have this unlock the door automatically. And for Shabbos this part would be off, so would just be a regular combination lock.
I would need it to allow someone in. Is there any way to do that without them having the app? Is there any way for them to ring a bell that notifies me on the app and I could hit approve to let them in?
A couple of things:
- You could get the keypad and use that to assign codes - you can simply add a temp code for people who want to use it
- It would seem that you can open the door remotely from the app (google it)
- You'd probably have to buy another bell that would notify you
As for shabbos operation - AYLOR - the app seems to have a history of opening and closing, which likely logs on shabbos unless you remove the battteries in the device. (Unplugging the gateway will likely prevent these from being recorded, but any time the lock is opened, the hardware behind the scenes is logging it).
