Great, thanks. That gives me 30 more days of "too many credit cards open in the last 2 years" reconsideration  :-\
At least no more "too many in 30 days" :)

Let her call & authorize you to speak on her behalf.

Funny, once after having my wife authorize me to talk on her behalf, I ask the representative what would you do if I just called up and said I was her? She said it happens all the time, as long as you give them all the information they requested and you represent yourself as her they have no choice but to talk to you. Keep in mind that its probably bank fraud, and you can end up in Otisville for that.

that's interesting, I once had my wife start the call, and told them she authorizes them to speak to me and they refused and would not discuss any specific details about the app, only general chase business cards info- but that was also the rep who told me they cannot open a new business card without proof that the business exists- employer ID # or a letter approving the business corporation app from the state

It is my first ink- I have tried 2 other times and denied even after huca, I have a nice amount of personal credit, this time denied on first huca, but then 2nd time- I got a nice rep, went through business interrogation, approved me but she said it had to go to a senior lender bec I already have a lot of credit with them, and called today and was told the senior lender approved it

I got instant approvals on 2 co branded cards. Applied for the Hyatt was rejected, no dice. Has there been anyone who's had the 3 cards approved within  30 days  lately? Thanks.
Just tried recon, got read the riot act. It's hopeless.

I HUCAd about 5 times and each time they mentioned that I already spoke with someone who wasn't able to approve my card due to lack of credit history (only 6 months). Should I continue?

Take a break & try again in a few days. Also try early morning & late at night. Try talking to them before they put you on hold to check the notes.

Applied for freedom and southwest 2bm southwest got approved and freedom got declined called recon the csr only wanted to approve me if I close my ba which I had for a month and reached spending threshold and points posted so I did it
i had a $125 balance so they made me pay it in order to close the ba account but he didn't realize I had a $231 pending charge. I checked now and it shows balance 0 but I guess they can't close because of pending transaction. Do you think my account will stay open for good?

You can have a balance remaining on a closed account
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

Okay, got a positive update regarding the "5 cards in past 2 years rule." Went into a branch yesterday, and found a really nice relationship banker who was willing to help. He called in, but they didn't want to reconsider me for the same reason, so he sent in a special consideration form (I think that's what he called it). Basically, a branch can do that if they think that you should get approved, and if you have over $10,000 in your bank account (not sure if they only do this if you bank with them as well). He sent in the form yesterday, called me this morning saying that he got them to approve me if I am willing to close my Hyatt card. No brainer, as I already used the free nights a while ago. So I guess we know that the 5 cards is not a hard rule...yet...

Side note - it's amazing how much nicer bankers are when you walk into a branch on Wall Street dressed in a suit clearly coming from work.

Which card did they approve ? Ye, there's no hard rule yet.

SP. That was the one that they were giving me all sorts of problems with. Didn't discuss the BA card with this banker because I don't want to rock the boat and I'm waiting until I get the letter in the mail regarding the address change. Also, when I called recon about the BA card, they didn't mention the 5 card limit. They just said I needed to confirm my address. The 5 card limit seems to only be for Chase cards (Freedom, SP, Slate, and not sure about Ink).

I've been HUCAing for a while and none of them will budge. They all say that since it was already reconsidered they cannot reconsider it again. I didn't realize that their reconsideration is such a formal and recorded process. In the future when they ask if I want them to "proceed with reconsideration" I will say no until I find a rep who is more on board
