When logging into an economy award flight NYC-IST-TLV Booked with 32K points, It had the offer to upgrade to J for 47K for both legs or 45k JFK-IST and 17.5K IST-TLV (no additional $).
When I tried doing it kept erroring out.
I called the reps all said they didn't see the combo offer but had the ability to upgrade to J for 45k JFK-IST and 17.5K IST-TLV.
I asked them to upgrade the segment JFK-IST but they still were getting an error. (I was using my points for a different pax)

I logged in to the TK app and only had the offer to upgrade to J 45k JFK-IST and 17.5K IST-TLV.
I tried to upgrade to J 45k JFK-IST and it worked!

This can be a good option when there is no saver award availability in J you get for 77K and economy YQ

Was able to upgrade TLV IST JFK to j class for 47k
Did this 10 days in advance. The option/offer only showed on desktop website.

The only thing I can think that I did different this time was using the same TK account that was used to book the original flights

Turkish web site is junk.  I was looking at a connecting flight on United from Toronto via Dulles.  United and Aeroplan show the availability.  However, the Turkish web site says there is no availability.  However, if you search the 2 segments individually, it shows both flights to be available.  So the TK website is not smart enough to display connecting flights..

If other star alliance members show availability on a partner award, and turkish doesn’t see it, and the agent says they don’t see it what is there to do? I really would like to book through turkish because the difference is about 70k. Any advice?

Interestingly, the flight shows up on the website (as opposed to just not being there at all) just to say there is no availability…

Im assuming turkish is fully capable of booking this flight, but the agent i spoke to said there is no way for him to speak to or transfer to any other person, including a supervisor, so really not sure what to do

If I'm booked on United with Turkish and the flight is cancelled due to the security situation, will I be able to rebook directly through United with their waiver or will I need Turkish to rebook me following their own policies?

My guess is that most people here are flying them only to israel, as its farther than europe and the other mid-east countries have airlines that people want to fly.

I once flew them to europe but that was when israel was closed and I wanted to try out the airline, but I don’t most people do that and I would not do it again unless extenuating circumstances, because its just a lot of extra hours.

Turkish just sent me a message saying that the second flight from Turkey to JFK was pushed off 24 hours to May 3rd the problem is one there's no way I'm spending 26 hours in Turkey in the current anti-semitic climate there and two May 3rd is a Friday. What are my options?

Call them to switch to an earlier flight. They have 4-5 flights a day to NYC.

I have 122k TK miles expiring on Dec 31. Does anyone know if booking a flight in 2024 and then paying the cancellation fee would extend the miles expiration date or will they immediately expire upon the ticket cancelling?
