@AsherO

I would like a list of potential pitfalls. This is not the Shulchan Aruch here, but to raise awareness, so people will know to look into it, or ask their rabbi.

One MAY bring a Megilas Esther on Shabbos to Shul, IF he reads/learns in it.
Who learns from a scroll nowadays?

so a non-baal koreh can "practice" on shabbos just to carry his megillah scroll?
Parenthetically, Rabbi Yisroel Reisman says it's better for everyone to follow along in a chumash and not a scroll. In case you need to repeat a word to yourself, it's much easier.

Pfff, how all gets turned around.
That's exactly what I wanted to avoid here on this thread.
Yes he can read the text if he so wants.

But neither one means that you need to reach ad dlo yoda before

I would think just like a sedua which can begin (and actually rov sedua) before shkia and go into the night, ad dlo yada must also be before shkia so if your way of fulfilling that is through a nap or sleeping or some other way then it has to happen on Purim not after.  of course ad dlo yada can go into the night as well but the way you fulfill it must be on Purim just like rov sedua

Woman are not allowed to use a gun
Unless its Pikuach Nefesh in which case its muttar.
But unless she practices with a gun, she's less likely to be able to use it to defend herself.

I assume what he means to say is that since you can start your Seudah before Shkiah and let  if it go on after, but the ad dlo yada should be before...

correct
if your way of fulfilling it is a nap then it must be on Purim not after!

Woman are not allowed to use a gun

Why would it be different than men?
Who says that men are allowed to use guns for sport?

For a woman its a Kli Gever (Lo Silbash). Even if she doesn't shoot it at all its a problem. Like a man walking around with a womans pocketbook.

That's exactly the problem, if you don't hear the Baal Kore and have to repeat a word to yourself, it doesn't work from a chumash, you need a scroll

I believe Rav Moshe writes that it's allowed in more dangerous places

I dont think it’s that simple. The question is which rov. Some part must be read inside even if it’s just a miut. What those parts are is hard to know.

Using a gun or wearing it would be the same din. I think.
