I like the Lumia because it's a new UI. The whole interface design is different and I've been using Android for a while. It's also designed super nice. It has a nice look and runs exceptionally smooth. The keyboard is one of the best I've seen. The high end Lumia have excellent cameras. It's not better or worse than Android. They both have their pros and cons.
I just think they are highly underrated and people don't give them a look even.

Everyone who has bought one on my recommendation has been happy with it.

Also the price tends to be cheaper than comparable devices on Android.

Not saying it's THE phone to buy but if you give it a look you might be pleasantly surprised.

I will try to test it out and let you know what i think.
The only thing that bothers me is being constricted by Windows and not having the Android markets. How many apps are available for Windows?

A lot less apps. Meanwhile every single app I use besides Instagram is available on Windows. I'd say for a lot of people the apps Windows offers are enough. And their Market is growing everyday.

It is a difficult choice. iPhone is simple but Galaxy S4 looks fabulous as well. anyway, I prefer iphone more.

BTW I was told there are no filter options for Windows phones, so thats out.
I guess its down to the Galaxy, Note, One etc.

Don't have the patience to hack phones like I did as a teenager. I've found better ways to occupy my time

VZW probably, other carriers I'm not sure. But I'm pretty sure there's a version of CM for the S4, I'm just not sure how to flash it.
