problem is my ophthalmologist is no longer among the living...
The fine print said that if the Dr. doesn't respond within 1 business day, they can just fill it based on my info.
Just get a new prescription. They usually expire after a year anyways.
Why do you need a prescription? Can I get high on these things?
Huh?
I'm lost as why they need to verify a prescription. Why can't they just fill it based on my word?
Because there's no difference between a prescription for say morphine and contact lenses. Just like they wouldn't trust you for prescription drugs they also don't trust you for prescription lenses. It's stupid, but that's how it works.
So back to my original question
his question is, why do glasses and lenses require a prescription, and not pants and reading glasses.
What, you don't need a prescription in Israel? Or are you asking because you don't wear lenses?
Its for your own safety. Wearing lenses (glasses too) that are not your prescription for a week or more can permanently make your vision worse.
They never verify when I buy glasses online, only contacts
The Dr's petitioned for it, they were losing money to the online retailers- whereas they used to sell the contacts themselves. Now they make their money by giving you a yearly exam. The bottom line is: WE the consumer always lose out.
Just want to post another success story with 800Contacts matching to replacemycontacts.com. Got an instant credit for the would-be MIR from replacemycontacts. Saved over $100 from the 800Contact price including their own MIR.
This is relay old but what dose MIR mean?
