Note that all sAAver flights available on AA.com are able to be booked on BA.  When there are many flights on one day, they may not all be listed on BA.com.  So you will have to call to book it.  Get the phone fee waved because it wasn't able to be booked on line.

NOTE: Household accounts will not allow transfers from Iberia to BA. Make sure you don't have a household account, and if you do, split it up.

NOTE: When booking, erase your Avios number when entering your passenger information. This will make it much simpler to add your AA Advantage number at a later time.

Is it true that not all AA MileSAAver awards can be booked with Avios? Found a specific flight and BA rep said they don't have access to booking every AA flight.

Scratch that. I realized now they couldn't book it (even on the phone) because it was a stopover. Searching for the legs individually, came up with the results I want. Now I have a new Q. MIA-CLT is coming up as 7500 avios and CLT-LGA is coming up as 4500. Forgetting the fact, that that doesn't make sense as CLT-LGA is much longer and is somehow less avios, how do you effectively get the legs to join together for the 1 rate? Is that something you explain to them on the phone?

You don't. You'll have to pay 12,000 Avios for that trip.

what is the success rate on getting priority access / free checked bag on AA using avios? I see it's a mixed bag historically. Any very recent experience? Thanks.

Oh, interesting. So that's not much better than the 12.5K AA for the trip other than getting to hold onto AA miles.

And is there a way to tell from your booking if they're giving you priority access, even without AA status?

You could see it on the boarding pass. Not sure about before that.

Nice. Too bad though, I had booked this ticket with AA a while ago when I couldn't find it on BA (b/c I didn't search for each leg individually + rep had told me the flight wasn't available for them to book and I believed them). AA rep today said it's $150 to cancel and redeposit miles. Is that true or DROPR?

Try MIA-PHL-TLV. Or going through AB.

Were you issued a 'ticket number'?
Then don't check in on line, get a seat assigned at the airport.
