Note that all sAAver flights available on AA.com are able to be booked on BA.  When there are many flights on one day, they may not all be listed on BA.com.  So you will have to call to book it.  Get the phone fee waved because it wasn't able to be booked on line.

NOTE: Household accounts will not allow transfers from Iberia to BA. Make sure you don't have a household account, and if you do, split it up.

NOTE: When booking, erase your Avios number when entering your passenger information. This will make it much simpler to add your AA Advantage number at a later time.

Even by booking by segments it appears that BA is still overcharging :(

I booked tlv to Munich for May 20 one way for 2 adults and infant(not occupying a seat)and they charged me 21000 avios and 53.64 in taxes then i booked Munich to phl one way may 20 and they charged me 52500 points and $240.64 in taxes for a total of 73,500 avios points 294.28 in taxes.  Dan had mentioned in recent post if we book by segments this route should be more like approx 62500(30,000 +30,000 + 2500) points??? Can i call them and argue that they should change this

LAN only has business award availability on a certain flight according to BA. However, when I go to the LAN website itself it comes up as economy. Anything I can do about this?

When searching for a flight (ORD-NYC 7/24/14) ba.com only comes up with 2 flights on that day but when i search on aa.com i see 5 all with Economy MileSAAver. If I call ba to try booking by phone any chance they'll waive the phone booking fee, since I cant seem to book it online?

Ba agents are very good with waiving the phone fee. Though they might not see it on their system, it could be aa has a few seats not accessible to ba.

I booked a flight for my son from LGA to YYZ for Mon, 10:20am.  I want him to go on the flight at 11:55 instead.  The change will cost $55.  The tax leaving Canada made the fees on this ticket $51.50.
If there are seats on the 11:55 flight,  will they let him go standby? any fees?
Would calling get the change fee waved?
Do I have any recourse or am I just stuck eating the fee or taking the earlier flight?

Calling will not help. Odds are if you show up late, they will just let him on the later flight, but no guarantees.
This is why you should always book two one ways for avios

If it's two one ways. And the flight in question is the one from LGA to YYZ, then you could just cancel that flight and pay just 2.50, leaving the YYZ to NYC flight alone.

You are so totally right!  I mixed up which leg cost what!
When I booked,  I delayed booking the YYZ to NYC leg until I knew for sure because that's the expensive one. This one I booked knowing it's easy to cancel. But I got mixed up.
I've making a lechaim Sun, so I'm working with flights for 2 kids, from 2 different places, with 2 different currencies.  And trying to keep to 2 airport runs total.

edit: correct flight booked.  old flight cancelled.

I am not sure that booking by segments helps as Dan posted a couple days ago

booking economy from tlv to phl with stop over with it is 30,000 avios per passenger

when I booked by segments tlv to Munich it is 10,000 avios and munich to phl it is comes 25,000; total of 35,000; 5000 more per passenger  than booking one ticket
