Follow up. Negative on the PCR with antibodies.
Very interesting - these are the second cases I heard this week of a positive rapid, but negative PCR.

Wonder if the rapid test could be less specific and picking up common cold or flu.

Remember last week we talked about the first 22 cases of confirmed re-infection?  This was one of those, where the symptoms were more severe the second time. There was a pre-print in August, so may have been mentioned here then.  This is the final peer-reviewed version in Lancet, which is a prestigious publication, so reader-friendly versions have already appeared in the media, take your pick:

Was that also published in Lancet?  I seem to have missed it.

A Lakewood doctor told me today that there have been reinfections (in the community), however they are not common at this point. Which corroborates what the Crown Heights doctors are saying.

Which place in the world had a significant number of people exposed more than 3 months after they were infected?

Huh? Until you show me a place (not a country) where there's been a real second wave, it's easy to say that the reason why there haven't been reinfections is due to lack of exposure after antibodies wear off. Gleaning this info from our community is way more definitive than just a general global lack of infections.

What do you deem a significant amount? There are hundreds if not thousands of people in the Tri-State area that have been exposed many times after the supposed “3 Months” and haven’t been reinfected.

You mean in the frum community? Yes, that's exactly my point. We're the first place that can show reinfection isn't a major concern.

Great way not to answer. If you're referring to the 3 months during which the CDC says you can be very confident that you won't get reinfected, et tu? No nuance?

I did. Do you need me to quote the entire thread every time I respond?

I think Israel's had a significant second wave, and while there have been some reinfections, my understanding is that it's still pretty rare.

Never really had a significant first wave, the first lockdown was preemptive
