Very disconcerting for a medical professional. If people want to be vaccine skeptics that's their prerogative (and for a different discussion), but medical professionals doing one thing and reporting another (due to their personal views on the matter) sounds like a slippery slope to me.

I'm erring on the side of open-mindedness so I don't end up debating the matter with the likes of the poster I quoted (assuming they share views with their relative).

I appreciate the open-mindedness.
For the record I do not agree with this relative. Nor with other relatives that have even stronger opinions about vaccines and western medicine. It does lend to some entertaining "discussions" at the shabbos table though.

Considering how common it sounds like this is, from word on the street, those numbers seem high.

You are right, it seems like a dangerous proposition for those doing it. It definitely shouldn't be discussed online.

It wouldn't surprise me at all that many of the "breakthrough" cases (with strong symptoms) amongst athletes are actually first-time covid cases e.g. Joel Embiid.
