I use the shabbos app on smart things which I believe uses the hebcal api to let me know when it's shabbos/yt. This changes m the mode of my hub to Shabbos/yt. I use that for a ton of things. All you're offering is the same thing just with the dates loaded into the physical device?

Yes it would be on the physical device and not reliant on the cloud (a must for some of us).
In addition it enables multiple new features mentioned up thread.

What about disabling a light switch button or having a reoccurring Yom Tov schedule or having reliable non-internet reliant automations?
You can also have Zmanim based automations like a light going on in a room 5 minutes before Sof Zman Krais Shema. Literally the skies the limit.

I can do all that right now. Only thing you're adding is non internet based. Which hasn't been an issue for me at all

How can one disable the click button of a light switch?
I personally can't see myself relying on the cloud for a possible issur Shabbos problem.

To answer the OP, to disable the dishwasher on Shabbos and Y"T.

Now that it actually exists, I checked under my sink and there's no plug, so the dishwasher is likely hardwired behind it.

A sonoff basic might work (will require some DIYing)
There also is other similar style smart relays (switch) that come pre-flashed making it easier like this.

@Yo ssi Is there a way to load it before putting it in place? there doesn't seem to be a battery.
