The advantage of this plug is it knows when you tov is as well. (In addition to all the calculations being run on the device itself which makes it more reliable). If you look at the GitHub page I mention some plugs that are easy to use but it's really any plug that can have esphome on it. If your savvy the sonoff s31s are currently on sale but require opening and manual flashing)
Am I understanding correctly that currently whenever this 7 day timer switch is on, the valve is open and when you "flip the switch" it turns off?
In regards to an override or anything you'd like to add it does require some knowledge of esphome but is definitely doable.

At $7.86 per 15A energy monitoring smart plug that's esphome compatible it's a great price. I suspect that due to their new version which has a different chip being released they are trying to clear out inventory.
i consider myself savvy, but for some reason these flashing stuff never cuaght my mind, but decided to see how to do this, i see i need a special adapter, so between all cons (not the flashing person, no adapter) & being that i only need 2-3 devices, i assume it would be easier to buy pre-flashed. which would you recommend?
regarding the switch, you are correct, on means the valve is in open position, off means closed position, can you recommend anything pre-flashed?
(regarding the override button, i was assuming from the posts upthread, that this is one of your options)
