Nah. Rational people saw through him before 2016. Not that he didn't do anything good, but he has always been a clown.

Many people actually enjoyed this clown but wouldn't predict his Jan 6 and beyond behavior. Take his very own VP for example, like so many others.

They enjoyed it as long as they felt liked it worked and made him win. But once it failed people came to hate it very quickly.

I can't trust you guys to keep this running while I take a break for night seder? I leave for just a few hours and I come back to a complete disaster. I had more confidence than that in you...

They had their heads buried in the ground. It was very predictable.

NYT now showing better than 80% confidence that Rs will take the house.
Seems like Zeldin helped flipped some seats in NY

Rational people would agree they were mistaken, and they probably didn’t mind enjoying the best presidential run in decades. Once it hit the 2020 elections he went haywire and needed to be canceled.

Again, there were many things he did well (though Rubio or Cruz would likely have as well).
But rational people didn't want a loose cannon in the White House and they were proven correct.

Fox calling PA for Fetterman.
Thanks Trump! Not many people that could have lost to Fetterman in this race.
Having Mastriano on the ballot certainly helped Fetterman as well.
CNN just called it as well.
Pity that Toomey retired. What was his reason?

He accomplished a lot as a loose cannon, they were proven dead wrong by the results. What he did after losing reelection is a different conversation and has nothing to do with voting him in 2016 and still enjoying those results.

And Rubio and Cruz don’t have 1/10th of his ability to get voters excited or mobilize the base.

Fetterman is incoherent. How this guy was elected is astounding and a real blow to Trump influence.

I enjoyed the clown. I voted for him twice because there was no alternative. But definitely would have rather had someone in a better mental position than the “very stable genius”.

Rs are going to take the house and WI.
All riding on flipping the NV and GA Senate seats now, and whether either GA candidate can get to 50%.

First time in a long time I did not vote. Also, first time in a long time I didn't watch any results.
1) From reading these posts it seems the big red wave didn't happen?
2) A pro-Trump forum (DDF) just flipped?
Only on DDF does 24/6 mean 24/5/half/half

i dont think ddf was pro-trump, i think it was for his policies. if desantis will continue his policies AND also know how to control his mouth, then he would be the better choice...
its about the policies, not the man behind it...

MAGA and ED headed the way of the Tea Party.

That depended very much on the member, but was always dependent on his ability to win.

Tea Party didn't have a tangible lasting effect of moving the trend of influential and rising Republicans visibly to the right? The centrists that ran the party for decades are largely sidelined now, no?

According to Wikipedia, their main ideals were absorbed by the Republican Party and they fell off the radar after that.

If trump either doesn't run or loses 2024 MAGA republicans will be the same. Even if Trump just called MAGA the greatest political movement in the history of America!
