I walked by the Thruway/87 near exit 14B today, and the digital info boards displayed:
April 8 Eclipse
Arrive Early, Leave LateExit 14B is 3.5 hours from the closest total eclipse site (although it is a sort of chokepoint for anyone leaving NYC and heading to either northern NY or VT), so I'd say this is a national phenomenon.
Additionally, us DDFers, as numerous as we are, didn't manage to get planes and hotel rooms across the eclipse path completely sold out...
