CVG has some decent points options. Its a short drive to the totality path

Also available with Qantas!

Thanks! Probably best off booking with Avios. The flight back is a not a little tight?

Wonder how flight delays due to enormous demand that day will play out, many people's flight will likely be delayed to the point that they'll miss the eclipse.

The basics of an eclipse is flexibility. Booking tight flight times is nuts - you spend all this time and money to lock yourself in to one particular location which as likely as not will be cloudy.

You need time to account for flight delays, massive traffic, and most importantly, repositioning for weather.

Leave Sunday the latest, return Monday evening the earliest, and plan for contingencies.

I walked by the Thruway/87 near exit 14B today, and the digital info boards displayed:
April 8 Eclipse
Arrive Early, Leave Late

Exit 14B is 3.5 hours from the closest total eclipse site (although it is a sort of chokepoint for anyone leaving NYC and heading to either northern NY or VT), so I'd say this is a national phenomenon.

Additionally, us DDFers, as numerous as we are, didn't manage to get planes and hotel rooms across the eclipse path completely sold out...

I have a Hyatt Regency Buffalo / Hotel and Conference Center reservation for April 7- April 8th, looking to sell if possible.

PM for details.

Planning on being in buffalo ny for the eclipse.
Anyone know about kosher food options?

coming in the morning to BUF and leaving after the eclipse, so will be in the airport parking lot for the eclipse. is there anywhere recommended to go in the morning? I'm wondering if even a 15 minute drive is risky.

I’m heading to Austin for the eclipse but now the weather is showing cloudy. How many days out would you say is reliable for forecasts? Up to 3 days?

Planning to go to Buffalo - drive Sunday, stay in a hotel overnight. Problem is I can't find hotels nearby, but I'm willing to drive an hour or 2 on April 8th.

Any sites that are good for finding hotels on the way? Google maps wasn't really helpful for me. Or if anyone knows a hotel with availability please share.

All hotel OTAs allow you to see results on a map. Good luck finding something though, I saw a Motel 6 in CLE going for over $100...

If doing a charter I would look into smaller regional airports away from big crowds. Buffalo is going to be swamped because its close to Niagara. The US has a lot of small airfields that would probably do you better
