LY TLV-LHR delayed 5 hours because of crew strike.
Any chances for compensation from Elal?
Is the European law of any use here?

United one day round trip.  Unfortunately the booking had connections in both directions.
The first flight was very delayed due to mechanical problems.  He missed his connection and didn't get to his destination at 10 am as scheduled, but after 2 pm.
He missed the funeral he was going for, only visited with the family afterward.

What's the best way to ask for compensation - phone, chat, email?
What could he expect to get?

I booked it through Chase Travel, using UR (SRC). That change anything?

-1 it is only applicable on ex-eu flights or eu carriers so it would only be applicable if the delay was in leaving london not tlv

Worth wasting some time for a flight delay of 6 hrs and the next AA flight delay was 4.5 hours and had my seat stolen! ? What would they give back to make up for the delay? Any chance I would be able to get a seat upgrade on a flight I'm taking with them, instead of a compensation (had anyone gotten that in exchange!?) tia

my other sister had a route change on her flight and when I called to complain they upgraded one leg to first class with no problem.

+1. Also, CMIIW, but crew strike constitutes extraordinary circumstances.

United 91 last night cancelled. For 3 hrs 40 minutes fixed oxygen tank for pilot. Then ran into 2 am TLV  curfew.
New flight is 24 hours later.

What can expect from UA? Does it fall under the Israeli required compensation?

So they are not budging from the $200 voucher, force majeure etc etc, same email as others have gotten here.

Any ideas how to continue ?

Tell them very clean that force majeure under the Israeli law is when there is a strike. When there is a technical problem they are due comp. Tell them you will take them to small claims court.
You can say what you think when you think what you say.

Yes I did all that and they just respond that nothing further is due.

I had the same problem 6 months ago and only got a $300 voucher.
I wish a lawyer here can take up all our cases and make em pay.

I just flew LH F TLV-FRA-EWR booked with 60k Aegean +$300.

I had a great time, but I think I deserve some compensation.
I didn't get a KSML on both flights.
In the FCT, I didn't either get any KSML despite calling and emailing them before.
On the plane my screen didn't work.
And they ripped one of my bags.(which i didn't mind cuz they gave me $150 for that in the airport)

What should I ask for?

I emailed

They claim to specialize. But no response.

Anyone know of success with another israeli lawyer?

I also got no response. And a different firm told me it doesn't apply ex-USA even though united.com says it does.
