Got this denial on a camera extended warranty:
Denial(s) on Claim include:
Under the EXCLUSIONS section of Extended Warranty, it states: Benefits are not payable
if the Loss for which coverage is sought was directly or indirectly, wholly or partially,
contributed to or caused by: …"1. any physical damage, including, but not limited to,
damage as a direct result of natural disaster or a power surge, except to the extent the
original manufacturer's warranty covers such damage;'...
Extended Warranty extends the original manufacturer's warranty for a period of time equal to
the duration of the manufacturer's warranty, up to one year. The manufacturer's warranty does
not provide coverage for physical damage; therefore, physical damage is not eligible under
Extended Warranty.
The place that gave me a repair estimate, wrote that there was a crack in the screen as well as power issues. The thing is, that the power issues that I was having, was going on way before the camera also got a crack in the screen. So even if they wouldn't cover the screen part, I was still eligible for extended warranty before that, since the camera would constantly shut on and off.
Where do I go from here, after they sent with this response and wrote that the case is closed? Can it be reopened? Do I have a case here? I never expected such a denial on a less than $200 Camera.
