i was thinking that United discussed this with the DOT and they reached the conclusion that they dont have to honor it. and they are just forwarding their outcome to us. BUT. now as many people are contacting them, tgey are doing an investigation as to what they told United is accurate.
That's a good point ur bringing out buti think that the DOT is just telling us that they're investigating and they're just gonna wait a few days before telling us that they REACHED A CONCLUSION AND UNFORTUNATELY we lost our tickets

They would have no interest in doing that, + a freedom on information act can reveal that.

Thats an interesting thought. I doubt it. The Dot just doesnt want to share good news with us that we will get back our tickets until after tisha ba'av. On july 30th we will all have our tickets reinstated.

And you should takka keep on davening. What nusach do you say for airline price mistakes?

I got credited back taxes from United today.

But it has happened that United has shlepped out refunding tickets for up to 6-8 weeks. Although here, they will probably do it instantly to remove themselves from more headache.

There's still a chance...

I replied to my cookie cutter DoT email by telling them that I had paid significant money for the infant fare. Maybe that'll get me somewhere.

It may have been 150 as of when he made that statement. Could be hundreds more filed later...

If they honor those 150 they will get a thousand more.

I'd have to imagine if the DoT finds that UA violated the regulations it will issue a cease and desist to UA for all tickets cancelled, not just the tickets belonging to those who filed complaints.

150 seems really low and cant possibly be right (unless it was a statement made early friday morning last week).
