After seeing the dislike of all the things that were done, I'm feeling bad for all the other interviewees that don't have a platform to vent.

At the end of the day, they should have been more forthcoming.

They promised to show me the final edit, and JJ and I did 20 hours of work on what supposedly was a final edit, but then it was edited again.
With the pictures, they didn't give the photographer the credit they promised and they made some truly absurd edits without asking any permission. If they didn't want a picture for being too casual, they had dozens of other options to choose from.

Had they shown us the final draft, I wouldn't have given permission. Which is probably why they didn't send anything.

Ami was the one that took the most liberty to embellish and even fabricate parts of our trip, which we didn't find out about until it hit newsstands.

Since then I've been sticking to Mishpacha (which has printed not only my elbows, but my daughter's too!).

Asked Ami why they removed Mendel's BBQ from that paragraph, they said it's so there shouldn't be competition for their advertisers.

I don't get the BIG disappointment in photoshopping / enhancing the images. Yes they do it so it should look better for them, and it would be nice if they approved it before. But I can understand that they don't want backlash with someone in their mag wearing shorts etc. In essence, it does not reduce nor put Dan in a negative way, and nobody besides Dan and family would know about those minor edits.

After all the article is written well and is full of knowledge. Most people just skim through the articles and don't analyze the images...

Now, if they said they will credit a photographer and didn't that is wrong.
