They email physical passes. I don't know if they would be deactivated.

If the card gets cancelled they automatically get deactivated. Many people learned the hard way when they bought passes and were denied entry...

Just got this email from United, huuuuuuge news!!

"You can now gift TravelBank cash to friends and family. we’re making it easy to give the gift of travel this holiday season. Our newest feature allows you to gift TravelBank cash to friends or family — all you need is their MileagePlus® number and last name"

This is an absolute gamechanger making United Travel Bank way more valuable. You can now "gift"/sell :) Travel Bank to another MileagePlus member!
The day is short but the work aplenty

Ask to convert to ETC
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

That may mean you can buy travelbank for your friend, not that you can transfer TB you already have in your account.

Not necessarily. Make sure to check it after converting. Book and cancel is obviously another option as mentioned… with both just double check…

Thanks!! I have been 1K for so many years i Cannot imagine not having it! I need either 7k in actual spend or another 34 segments! lol. (i have $17K so far)  I am willing to fly them if i have to!
I am just lost as to where to begin to try and do this!
I usually go way over the spend each year - but I am always up for a challenge if the prize is this good!
Any advice you can give is so appreciated!!

The prize isn’t that good for difference between Plat and 1k.

I hear that, and for almost everyone that is probably true. i travel (usually) worldwide and get upgraded 95% of the time with Pluspoints. I have 360 (i earned many extra last year) that will expire Dec actually due to the lack of the last 8 weeks of not traveling. I don't want to leave the US in the forseable future.

Good argument, plus points for harder routes. (Still wouldn’t call that a major prize with the value of PP especially minus the mileage run cost… I also doubt anyone is @95% on the plus-points-valuable routes though. If you are, your best option was probably not plus points. I think we all have expiring plus points for a reason.)

For 34 segments I'm not sure it's worth it. It will be very costly and a whole lot of travelling.
