But during a dip some which had previously not been undervalued can become so.

Something interesting I noticed - the S&P at the time of Trump election was about 23.3 P/E, and now it's at around 24.5  P/E. Which means for the most part, the growth of the market has been matched by earnings and it's not just ever inflating stock prices.

Do you think this will work? Should I be buying AMZN?
You should buy amzn despite it launching this experiment, not because of it.

This launch is not a plus for the bottom line, it is going to be a drag on the bottom line for a long long time before it turns a profit, if ever, it’s probably just a play by Bezos to negotiate better shipping prices from the big boys.

Nice.
So the trump bump isn’t in the ‘stock price’ but rather in actual earnings..

I don't if this makes sense, but that means the drop was just matching the market up with earnings?

No the markets were doing just fine while the earnings rolled it, the downward spiral began the second the jobs report was released which resulted in interest rate hikes speculation.

Not saying that's what caused it, just that we know lost the bubble.

A market thats up 300% over 9 yrs without entering a bear market is not losing a bubble with a 10% drop. Thus being said as @yunneek pointed out the market doesnt seem to be in a bubble with current earning. But since the market is  aforward looking indicator if it smells any slowdown in future earnings it can enter  a bear market even when current earnings wont support it. Will have to wait if the tax bill would have any major impact earnings since technically business spending is a small part of GDP vs, consumer spending which accounts for most of GDP and tax bill didnt give such a major boost for consumers themselves.
