Why do places post their menus on their website, but without pricing?

Between the following, which would you say is best in terms of food, pricing, ambiance?
Mike's, Reserve Cut, Le Marias, Tabernacle, Sen Sakana.
if u are somewhat price conscious and counting the 3 values equally, and can enjoy an “ambiance” of falling apart old French hole in the wall bistro, le marais stands out among those options as the meal will likely be less than half the cost. Other important point is location/ability to find parking if applicable.

I find it the other way around. I wouldn't mind paying more if it's somewhat reasonable and upfront. The unknown is what's scaring me away...

Pricing -le Marais
Ambiance- RC

Best food is subjective
Correct, but my tier 1s are based on food+ambiance scores, for which LM and RC lose points on.

LM is certainly the best value and makes great steaks, but there's no ambiance and there's no innovation.
RC you're paying a lot for ambiance, the food is a step down from Barnea/Tab and even from Mikes/Sen.

I disagree that RC food is a step down. Hence subjective.

I think I can explain the nekudas  hamachlokes. Li aniyas daati, Rabeinu @Dan likes different/inventive and more novel dishes beyond meat, and for that I haven’t been very impressed with RC. But perhaps r @Spoon is more focused on what lots of people go to a steakhouse for, the actual steak. I had several years of shimush (eating lunch/dinners) at reserve cut back in the day, and I really don’t think there is another restaurant that makes a more consistently enjoyable simple ribeye steak to your temperature preference.

Nah I barely even order steak anymore because I don't find them to be better than the ones I make at home.

I think he just had a mediocre experience there (which shouldn't but unfortunately happens at all places) and hasn't been back

You either make a killer steak or kosher steakhouses just don't stack up to non-kosher.

What kosher steakhouses have you been to? I'm curious. Non Jewish chefs have complained to my father that kosher meat is tasteless compared to non kosher likely due to the lack of blood. OTOH, people who frequent the best restaurants in NYC have told relatives that Izzy's was "the best meat they've ever had". (Izzy's is not a steakhouse) Kosher also means there are certain cuts you can't have, plus no butter, which IINM is a common steakhouse ingredient.

Wait -- you no longer eat at RC every day? Sheesh, thought some things would never change.

Yes, I do want to see novel dishes besides steak (RC and LM lose here), but they have to nail the steak as well.

We had a DO in LM :)

When is the Barnea or Tabernacle DO?
And why in the world was the CH DO in Mermelstein over Izzys. Ahem @ExGingi. :D

I was with KCBBQ master judges and Izzy's meat holds its own against other top BBQ. Maybe BBQ is just more forgiving than grilling?

A contributing factor can be that one cooks all day with
kosher meat is tasteless compared to non kosher likely due to the lack of blood. ....... Kosher also means there are certain cuts you can't have, plus no butter, which IINM is a common steakhouse ingredient.
While the others don't.
