Does anyone know of an insurance company that lets you purchase the day of departure?

When I was in that position, I wrote in the next day's date. And coverage started when I landed in Europe.

Was in Israel this airline cancelation and rebooking. In what category should that be considered?

If you mean for medical, yes there are, when if you are on the trip already. Chat with the brokers(insuremytrip.com etc) and they will let you know which ones.

I was landing the day after I took off/ started my trip. So I knew I'd only have a claim after coverage started.

Not that I am aware of. I doubt any company will provide trip insurance. You might be able to get medical insurance from Israeli companies.

Travel Guard specifically said they wont cover for reg medical Insurance in Israel? I only got an email from Allianz that agent can't sell policies to Israel, I don't recall getting from anybody else.

It was a Turkish airlines flight. Cancellation email used term operational reasons

I had Allianz and claimed the flights home from TLV after Sukkos. B"H got paid in full for 10 passangers $23,000

About to purchase tickets using Chase Sapphire Reserve Points and have a question.

If I pay with points would I get reimbursed by travel insurance, for trip cancellation, or they will need me to show that I paid cash?

I'm talking about cancelling for any reason or for a work reason insurance.
