how do you put a filter on a desktop? do you have to bring it in person to an office or its all done online?

I know it may be an obvious question but they also filter apps and the app store?

Most filters can be done online.

Here is what I do. Help out and categorize it for the world. Just allowing a site via techloq wont help for others, but if Norton approves the categorization it will:

 As i have one specific site I use quite often which keeps on locking.  And now I went back to see why and see this.

Temporary, for 14 days

For your safety, the website was only approved temporarily as it hasn't been categorized by our system yet. Categorization can take a couple of days and once it is categorized it will be handled based on the category. Please note: You may need to request access to the website again once it has been categorized.

Just to note, When on the website and it asks you to select a filtering service, techloq told me to select "Blue Coat Proxy SG"

I think what I did when I had that was request the site for 300 days that way its a temporary request and I think it worked.

Anyone have experience with MbSmart?
Can Apple.com be blocked, while allowing the App Store to still work?
I would want access to the App Store for updating the apps & to install new ones if needed, but don’t want the device to have access to Apple Music, (https:// music.apple.com/us/browse), which seems to be accessible when Apple.com is allowed. And when it’s blocked, the App Store seems to be blocked.

I'd guess it's just automatic.

Experience has shown that the phrase (and others flagged) is blocked when it is in the title of the page. If in the text on the page, it has to exceed a certain threshold of repetition before it gets blocked.

Yes I have noticed the same thing and it bothers me. Why do they focus on the link/title more than the actual content? Sometimes the content could actually be very offensive, but since doesnt have certain buzzwords in the title, its not blocked...

Ok so you posted a link to x.com, on the internet filters board. Suffice to say most of us cant open the link (even when the page is allowed, login issues prevent it from displaying). Care to share a bit more..?

I assume:
1. Title more likely to be subject of page
2. Some words come up more neutrally and they can't just block them every time they occur. For example: because it is the season, Amazon posts a swathe of deals on beach clothing. Should they block the homepage for that? (Netfree actually blots out words that are flagged - sometimes whole paragraphs - and leaves the rest of the page open.)
3. For content they have other, more broad blocks on entire websites.

Its really hit or miss there. Not really a great way to run a filter.

Good point and thats what my issue is, I would think techloq should be able to utilize the same Netfree technique as its actually quite good. Especially these days with A.I., it can probably do a pretty thorough job..

Right but for someone that can read a news website, and there is a totally inappropriate article, but the headline just says "Official sentenced to jail after pleading guilty" the filter would just let it pass because the category is fine. Just find it surprising that all the filter companies use such different technologies and there isnt (doesnt seem to be?) one that has it all.
