Since October 12, 2015, the prepaid REDcard (Redbird) can only be loaded at Target with cash. It can still be loaded online with a bank-issued debit card, up to $200/day and $1K/month.

Therefore, for MS (manufactured spending) Redbird is now considered dead. RIP!

There is no comparison... You forgot about house prices...

This probably belongs In js but if you rely on ms for life essentials you deserve whatever comes to you. Get a job that pays more than killed or at least a rich father in law with one.

Someone I know has 4 RC's, goes to Guest Services and loads 10K at one time with one cashier.

Does anyone else do this? I feel like it's such a bad idea.

1. I work a salary job and several small side jobs to provide for my family and also consider MS to be additional side income. I am however aware that there are many individuals on here each with their own circumstances.

2. "Get a job that pays more" is fantastic advise to everyone and many people would do well to do so, but again, not everyone is in circumstances that will allow them to simply dance into a job that gives the salary they dream of.

There are many honest hard working people who do the best they can to provide for their families under the circumstances, but it's not always so simple.

(I have never gone on a tangent like this here before IINM and it's not something I intend to make a habit of, Im not looking to start a feud or a huge OT, but I was significantly disturbed by what seemed to me to be flippant disregard for the honest efforts of many hard working people, and wanted to point it out).
1. I wasn't referring to you specifically, but to the general "you", i.e. whoever may be using this or counting on it for income.
2. As far as a better paying job I was specifically referring to those who may be in kollel and want more money but love living the stress free life. I don't want to say more as this is already PCish and it is spiraling. For the record, I have no problem with the concept of kollel as long as one spends as much time in kollel learning as someone working spends at their job (hours in coffee room do not count).

OT: if anyone wants to tell me how they are supporting a kollel family via MS, I'm all ears.
I made more in 2014 from MS without much effort, than my wife did by working.

Disclaimer, she didn't work the whole year. But I made around 10k. If I had been hustling, I could have easily made much more than that. I'm sure the value of the miles some of the more experienced DDFer earn in one year would easily be tens of thousands dollars.

Is there a way to load a visa reward gift card (like those from staples rebates) on a redcard. I tried the last 4 digits but it did not go through?
