Has Anyone had any issues using iPhone 5 with windows 8. Don't think there should be an issue, but was looking for a new laptop and Someone told that people have had trouble, just wanted to know if there was any truth to that.

whoa - the price of the pro version of windows 8 has a listed price of $199. no thanks.

not long ago I found an article in PC World or something like that which said how you can make you windows 7 system as good or capable as windows 8. Not an online article so I googled it. found something here.
http://www.dedoimedo.com/computers/windows-7-like-8.html

but I use Linux, so that's for your (windows users) knowledge only, at least for now.

The important benefits of Win8 are the greater OS efficiency and speed, not trivialities like theme personalisation.
Following the tips in the above article just leaves you left with the worst of both worlds: An OS which runs like Win7 and looks like Win8. [Well, I don't think that Win8 looks all that bad, but I don't want to open up a can of worms here.]

When I move my finger on the trackpad from left to right the whole screen changes to the previous app that I was using. Now,1) I want to turn that off.
2) I want to close all those other apps, I have about ten open, every app I opened( ie. map, photos....) Is still open as I can't figure out how to close them. Thank you

To close an app you have to drag down with the mouse from the top to the bottom of the screen (put mouse at top of screen, click and hold mouse, move mouse (still holding down) to the bottom of the screen).

Any windows 8 can be downgraded to windows 7
.......
Just use the key off any old system, we all have one of those

I was computer savvy in my teens a decade and a half ago, but have since strayed from the path .......

In expecting a new Envy laptop to arrive in a weekish with Win 8. Has a 24GB SSD cache drive for OS.

Does anyone know of clear safe instructions that they could link to for the dinosaurs among us, how to clean it and start fresh with win 7?

I could google but don't want to end up in a mess by following bad instructions.

My wife's laptop came with win 7, so assuming the same key can work for two laptops at the same time, I could use her key.
