Note that all sAAver flights available on AA.com are able to be booked on BA.  When there are many flights on one day, they may not all be listed on BA.com.  So you will have to call to book it.  Get the phone fee waved because it wasn't able to be booked on line.

NOTE: Household accounts will not allow transfers from Iberia to BA. Make sure you don't have a household account, and if you do, split it up.

NOTE: When booking, erase your Avios number when entering your passenger information. This will make it much simpler to add your AA Advantage number at a later time.

Shoot! Is that a requirement? Work paid for my upcoming ticket OW and the other way, I paid the $5.60 in fees with an SP. When I've taken US flights in the past, I did not pay with my US cc and wasn't asked any questions about checking bags. Could it be YMMV with the agent?
He just had a unwelcome agent. How would they even know what CC you used, it's a BA reservation?...

I've had agents tell me they can see (maybe they were lying?)

Interesting. Either way, I've paid with my SP before and got the free bags by adding my AA FFN to the reservation.

IME as long as you add the FFN in advance you won't have a problem (this is only if the system gives you you free bags automatically (which it should) otherwise, you likely won't be able to get them to deduct it manually...)

Im trying to find my AA record locator for a flight booked with Avios. I'm having issues downloading the PDF from Checkmytrip.com as Dan suggest in this post. Any other ways I can get my AA record locator?
I am sometimes accused of overthinking things. I am still mulling over whether that accusation has merit.

Go to your BA res and click "pick seats". A page will pop up saying that you are being transferred to AA.com but it will first show your AA record locator.

My friend and his wife booked tickets via Air Berlin to EY for Succos, using BA Avios. He mistakenly wrote his wifes married name, even though her passport has her maiden name. They didnt let him on the flight; he is in JFK trying get on adifferent flight but they are being very stubborn about it. Any advice?

Did he bring his marriage license? Did she legally change her name?

he didnt bring it but she did legally change name. He offered to have someone fax it in but they would not budge. They said hes going to loose the Avios. Hes about to leave airport. He and his wife are really dissapointed and their unwillingness to  help. Air Berlin suggested to the rep to cancel the reservation and rebook with new name as the flight was about to leave; but she refused.

Marriage license and all documentation you can bring is crucial in these situations.

If a flight doesn't show up on BA.com, you can tell if its really avail fir mileage by checking AA.com for sAAver availability.

Is there something similar for a USairways flight?

He offered to have it faxed or emailed. Shoul they have agreed to cancel and reissue ticket to her maiden name? Does he have a goo chance of getting his Avios back?

They don't have to do anything.
They are definitely not required to give the Avios back

call.  They can separate that person out of the group.  If you have the time, why waste even the taxes?
