Thought there was maybe something about 6 months but i didn't think that was a real thing

Subject: Special Passport Application Event for Those With Urgent Travel - Tuesday, September 5, 2023

What: The American Citizen Services (ACS) Unit at the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem will hold an after-hours passport acceptance event for emergency passports.  These passports will be limited to one year and are intended for those with upcoming travel in less than two months.  No applications for full-validity passports will be accepted.  If you do not have travel within the next two months, we ask you to please not make an appointment for this event.

Where: U.S. Embassy Jerusalem, 14 David Flusser Street, Arnona, Jerusalem

When: Tuesday, September 5 from 3:00pm to 7:00pm by appointment only.  The appointments will be released on Monday, September 4 between 3-4pm on the scheduling website: https://cacms.state.gov/s/new-appointment.  If you log on to the official website at that time and do not see any available appointments, it means we are fully booked.   

Please come prepared with all of the required documents, fees, and photos.  Those without all the correct application materials will be turned away and asked to reschedule:  https://il.usembassy.gov/u-s-citizen-services/how-passport/.

To determine whether you need an in-person appointment, please see (https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports/need-passport/apply-in-person.html). U.S. citizens who have a 10-year passport that expired less than 5 years ago must apply by mail or drop box.

If approved, the emergency passports will be available for pick-up at 2pm on September 7.

Slightly OT,

The consulate now sends instructions to open a MyTravelGov account to apply for a "CRBA" only problem is that no matter what I try I can't login to my newly created (and activated) account, I get "Sorry, the identification you entered was not recognized. Please try again."

I understand that the passport renewal program is closed, does that effect MyTravelGov entirely? The consulate insists this is the only way to go and they cannot assist me with technical issues.

For what it is worth, I tried signing into my account and got the same error. Suspecting that I used the wrong password, I tried resetting it and got a "technical error" message.
Can anyone else here try to reproduce the problem? @Alexsei Are you using any filters or VPNs?

I tried with and without filters/vpn
Tried every browser in the book
Tried creating a new account

I've heard similar issues someone told me he simply tried every single day until one day it worked.

Applied in Monticello for 3 kids on 7/28, and received all of them today in the mail (under 6 weeks).

Mailed out passport with USPS priority mail. Seems like it got lost as tracking hasn't updated in a few days and it was supposed to be delivered on Friday.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Had similar situation. Showed up after 2 days.

Tracking still shows in transit but check was cashed today.

Ironically as slow and as outdated as the whole passport application system is, they are surprisingly fast in cashing those checks.

Date of appointment at US embassy: August 2nd.
Passports received: September 13th.
Processing time: 6 weeks. About four weeks less than Chaim vChessed estimated.

Where can I book a flight which could be cancelled within 24 hours of flight?

sent in my passport from CT for renewal on 7/13 (it had already expired)....i did not expedite, and just recieved new one yesterday 9/25!! old one also came same day... pretty fast bh...

Not within 7 days of the flight unless you book with an agent or OTA.
