Israel And Ben Gurion COVID-19 Reopening Master Thread
« on: May 09, 2020, 10:17:28 PM »
What is the story with Israel’s Foreigners Ban?
I’ve been hearing mixed reports about what is needed in order to be allowed back in, For those that live in Israel, but are American citizens. I’m referring to those that are married, have an apartment and pay rent, not yeshiva bochurim. Though Ive actually heard that  if you have a student ID, then you actually have better chances of being allowed back into Israel. Also some have actually gotten back in already, and upon leaving The airport, we’re told they need to quarantine in Corona hotels for two weeks, However some we’re allowed to go directly back to their apartments. Does anyone have any clear and accurate information?

Has anyone flown on a flight to or from Israel recently? Are they packed?

I have a teenage relative born in Israel and grew up there, but never got citizenship. She went to the US this year and now can’t get back home.

If she lived there she should have a resident Visa which would get her a permit to fly

You can be born in Israel and not have citizenship?

I know several people who were not born in Israel (their parents were both Israeli citizens also not born in Israel) and had Israeli citizenship forced upon them.

Yes. The current law dictates that a baby born to parents who are both foreigners is not automatically an Israeli citizen.

Though I made sure to actively renounce citizenship when my daughter was born in case they move goalposts in a few years or months and change the law.

Definitely.
My 6 siblings and myself were all born in Israel and didn’t get citizenship (ranging between 28-8 years ago). You just need to be proactive about not getting it.

Doesn't seem like there is one clear answer. YMMV really applies over here as everyone gets diffrent answers.

Can't get back, meaning she actually tried and got denied?

I try to sound as intelligent as possible.

If his dirah is his apt, then why not?
If they allow visa holders to enter.
