I think with voter ID it'd be much simpler to prevent fraud. And when you get a new drivers license or register in a new state it should prompt a de-registration in the previous state.
If the states can share driving violations across states there's no reason they can't share voter registration data as well.

I didn't say they were completely incapable of doing things right. I just wouldn't make them the face of efficiency. The DMV sucks, but whatever system they use to communicate between states never forget to put points on my license, regardless of where the ticket was issued. Meanwhile, at my last 3 addresses, I've received more mail for other people than for myself.

Most of these instances are ballots that are issued to two different people, yourself and a previous resident, who either died or possibly moved out of state.

Every single state has some form of verification. That's not to say that you couldn't get a fraudulent ballot through in some circumstances, but to think that just because someone got a ballot for another person that they can actually get a vote counted for them.

Backend and frontend is day and night. People are the weak link. Less is more could never be more true.

Also gives more power to the sitting president in an election that may replace him (which is another reason why mail-in voting should be as limited as possible).

There are simpler ways to accomplish that same thing. They can cleaning up the voter rolls by comparing it to death records, and require inactive voters (anyone who hasn't voted in a while) to confirm their registration.
